I made it to India, safely, but it was one hell of a ride. Getting in late at night in the airport and getting in the circa 1984 taxi with a driver that didn't know english - and no idea where I was - was a trip. Deli was beautiful, tragic, dirty, crumbling, elegant, and totally out of some kind of fiction. It smelled like incense and garbage. The architecture has been beautiful and strange, and the landscape stunning. The train to the country was another experience alltogether, but being in the hills finally with fresh air is like heaven. We haven been hiking and doing yoga in the woods. the food has been great, and the only ill I have felt has been the malaria meds and the car rides. I have been picking up a little hindi, and losing all sense of time. Not much sketching so far, but TONS of beautiful photos, that I may not post for four more weeks. It will be worth the wait, trust me. This is truly a magical place.
