Mi chiamo Jessica

This morning we had our first class, Italian. It was molto fico! I am trying to stick with the more advanced group, so we'll see how that goes. We had orientation, and were given our first assignments: Walk the city for four weeks (in an assigned neighborhood), and a drawing during our walking history class of the forum and coliseum. I was having trouble getting money out of the ATM after withdrawals in India, which I finally got a hold of my bank and sorted it out. (I have had to borrow money from everyone during the last two days.)

In other news I found a spot in the spare room that has wireless, so it will be a great place for Skype calls. I need to get that figured out and then I can chat with folks. We get kicked out of the Rome center at midnight, and the computer lab is only open to 5pm so far - so calls from the apartment at night will be much easier. I hope that the wireless doesn't go away (crosses fingers).
I have to go on a cell phone hunt, to try another carried to use with my existing phone, so I only need a 10E phonecard and not have to buy a whole new phone. I'll let you know the number when I get it, but it will be expensive to call out (incoming calls are free - nice, eh?).

Schedule (generally):
8:30-10:00am Italian
10:30-12:00? History Lecture?
2:00-? Walking Tour

first dinner in Roma (at the hostel terrace)
